About
Kim Knox Beckius
Author, The
Everything Outdoor Wedding
Book
Kim
Knox Beckius is a
Connecticut-based freelance writer
and photographer with extensive
event-planning experience that
includes not only public festivals
and charitable fundraisers but her
own two weddings--the first a very
traditional affair, the second an
informal, outdoor
ceremony and lobster bake at a
historic New England barn.
Kim's penchant for lobster and all
things New England was evident in
her first book, The
Everything Guide to New England,
published by Adams Media in 2002
and updated as The
Everything Family Guide to New England
in 2008. She is also the author of
Backroads
of New England (2004,
Voyageur Press), Backroads
of New York (2007 Voyageur
Press) and The New England
Coast: The Most Spectacular Sights
& Destinations (Fall 2008,
Voyageur Press).
Since 1998, she has also produced
About.com's New
England Travel Web
site--taking Internet users on a
virtual tour of New England and
providing the Web's worldwide
audience with lively, weekly
commentary on travel and events
and insight into Yankee tradition,
history, and ingenuity. She also
produces About.com's Hartford
site.
As Senior Writer for Grace
Ormonde Wedding Style
and Grace
Ormonde Wedding Style New England
magazines, Kim has covered wedding
trends, honeymoons and women's
health issues and has also written
"feature wedding"
profiles focusing on exotic,
upscale nuptial events, including
several in fabulous outdoor
settings. Her articles on
honeymoon travel and pre-wedding
escapes have also appeared in Bride & Groom and
Bridal Guide. She has
also written on topics ranging
from travel to grandparenting for
Atevo.com, Bellaonline.com,
BriefMe.com, LeisurePlanet.com,
and SAGEport.com.
